Council asks for more info about EDCs

While wanting to enhance economic development efforts for Fort Frances, town council said Monday it is more interested on working something out with the Rainy River Future Development Corp. than starting from scratch.

Keep DSSAB funding formula the same: council

A review by the Rainy River District Social Services Administration Board of its formula for the apportionment of costs could have a major impact on the Town of Fort Frances’ 2010 budget.
At its March 10 meeting, DSSAB passed a resolution to review the funding formula after a request from the Township of Atikokan to switch formulas.

New library coming along on schedule

Work on the new Fort Frances Public Library and Technology Centre is moving along on schedule and on budget, with a grand opening set for June 21.
The local “Friends of the Library” toured the building Friday afternoon, at which time project manager Brian Avis provided a status update.

Boil-water advisory for Rainycrest

Due to maintenance procedures taking place at Rainycrest Long-Term Care here, the entire facility will be under a boil-water advisory effective Monday, March 15 starting at 1 p.m.
This advisory will remain in effect until further notice.
