WILLIAM ‘BILL’ GOW

William “Bill” Gow, 87, of International Falls, Mn., passed away Friday, Jan. 20, 2012 at his home.
He was born April 2, 1924 at St. Boniface, Man. He graduated from the University of Manitoba and was employed as an electrical engineer at Boise Cascade.
Bill was united in marriage to the former Marion Ruth Williams on Sept. 20, 1952. She predeceased him in 2005.

DAVID ‘BUD’ VICTOR RONALD

David “Bud” Victor Ronald passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012 at Sacre Coeur Hospital at the age of 89.
He was predeceased by his parents, Dave Ronald and Catherine “Kitty” Robertson; and his brother, William “Bill” Ronald of Sudbury, Ont.
Survived by his wife, Maxine Boileau, the “love of his life” for 67 years; and his sister, Helen Coleman.

MARJORIE MAE CHEPIL-MAINVILLE

It is with sadness that the family of Marjorie Chepil, 73, of 199 Ontario St., Thunder Bay, Ont., announces her passing on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012 at her residence with her family by her side.
Marjorie was born Oct. 2, 1938 in McIrvine (Fort Frances), Ont. and was raised in a farm environment with her parents, Pearl and Jim Laughren.

VIVIAN JUANITA SMITH

Vivian Juanita Smith, 89, of 550 Osborne St., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away at her residence on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012.
She was born June 15, 1922 in Burriss, Ont. to the late Edwin and Bertha Kennedy. On Nov. 4, 1940, she was united in marriage to Milton Smith.

GORDON CARL PETERS

Gordon C. Peters, of Finland, Ont., passed away unexpectedly in his home on Friday, Jan. 27, 2012 at the age of 75.
Gordon was born April 2, 1936 in Blue Township, Ont. to Walter and Winifred Peters.
He started working in the bush at an early age and hauled pulpwood to Fort Frances. He was very proud of owning his own truck at the age of 17.

It is with great sadness that we the children, Della and Julie, announce the passing of our dearest mom, gramma, and great-gramma, Blanche Cayer, on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012 at the Melita Personal Care Home in Melita, Man.

SHEILA ANN HAMMOND

Sheila A. (Hoskins) Hammond, 61, passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2012 at her residence in Guelph, Ont. with the sound of Gordon Lightfoot flowing through the room, all her girls right at her side, pampering her . . . surrounded by her family and wrapped in lots of love.

LAURA BELLE COULSON

Laura Belle Coulson, 94, passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012 at her residence in Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont., where she has been well cared for by the loving and professional staff.
She was born May 31, 1917 and lived all her life in Rainy River District.

FREDERICK JOHN SUS

It is with great sadness that the family of Fred Sus announces his passing on Monday, Jan. 23, 2012 at Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont.
Fred was born Sept. 18, 1926 in Krakow Las, Poland to Anna and John Sus. At the age of four, Fred immigrated to Canada with his family, where he spent the rest of his years.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dearly beloved Pearl Jean Major, 85, of Manitou Rapids, on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012 with her family by her side.

DR. JON FISTLER

Dr. Jon Fistler, 51, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away unexpectedly at his residence on the afternoon of Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012.
The Rainy River District has lost a great man and a remarkable large-animal veterinarian.
Dr. Jon was born Aug. 19, 1960 in Perham, Mn. to Carol and Dr. Raymond Fistler, DVM.

YVONNE MARIE LANGE

Yvonne M. Lange, 79, of Atikokan, Ont., passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 16, 2012 at the Atikokan General Hospital.
Yvonne was born Feb. 17, 1932 in St. Brieve, France. She immigrated to Canada, arriving in Halifax, N.S. on July 4, 1946, and from there she came to Rainy River, Ont.

ELEANOR SYLVIA DEGAGNE

Eleanor Sylvia DeGagne passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
She was born Sept. 28, 1933 in Selkirk, Man. to Peter and Mary Macedon.
When she was two, the family moved to Rainy River District, settling in on the farm in Devlin, where they stayed for eight years until the passing of her father.

EMILY ETHEL MUNRO

It is with sadness that the family of Emily Ethel Munro, 90, of 425 Nelson St., Fort Frances, Ont., announces her passing on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
Emily was born June 21, 1921 in Brandon, Man. to the late Harper and Amy Simmons.
Emily was united in marriage to Evald Gustafson in 1940 and raised three children. Evald passed away in 1972.

MARY ANN KENASZCHUK

Mary Ann Kenaszchuk passed away at her Stoney Creek, Ont. residence on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012 in her 92nd year.
Born in Fort Frances, Ont. to the late John and Veronica Fichuk, she was the beloved wife of 57 years of the late William Kenaszchuk.
